Josefa Llanes Escoda was a well-known Filipino advocate of women’s right of suffrage and founder of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines. Born in Dingras, Ilocos Norte, Escoda tained women to become Girl Scout leaders, then proceeded to organize the Girl Scouts of the Philippines. Josefa became the group’s first National Executive.
